In the preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, rights are described as the “ foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world” - the essential foundation for individuals and communities to thrive. This carefully thought out list details what every child needs to live a good life. In fact, technically it should be underpinning all care and protection of children in every country around the world, (except for the USA) because we are all signed up to it.
